Liquid Damage Treatment Tips

Liquid Damage Treatment Tips
Nearly all repair shops offer some type of liquid damage treatment.  And any technician or shop owner knows the challenges of offering this repair or service -  Will it work? Will it last? What other problems will occur down the road?

Many repair shops have decided to just offer the repair as a data recovery only process and this seems to make a lot of sense.  At our repair stores we charge a small $29.99 attempt fee for unsuccessful attempts to help cover our labor costs.  We charge $89.99 if it is a successful treatment.  A successful treatment is determined as a device that turns on long enough (with or without new parts) to retrieve data.  If the device works that is just a bonus, but is not warrantied.  If new parts are needed those are charged separately, also with a disclaimer that it is not guaranteed long term.  Also, if on board micro soldering is required we charge $129.99 for this work on liquid damaged devices.

No matter how a shop owner may decide to charge for this repair, we all know that sales revenue is lost on any treatment process that is less successful.  After trying many different tools and processes we have identified some specific methods and tools that have significantly increased our success rate and thus increased our revenue on liquid damage treatment repairs.  For our full recipe including the equipment we now use to greatly increase our success rate on liquid damage treatments check out the product details and video on the Prime Ultrasonic Cleaner.
